Athletes in the 10th annual Don Olson Classic hit the trails of Albion Hills Conservation Area on October 2nd.
The day featured perfect running weather, a beautiful course, some fast times & a full suite of new champions.
310 Running athletes swept the men’s overall category with Cameron Bennett taking the 5K title in 16:58. Liam Bauman took silver with a time of 17:07 & Thomas Nobrega rounded out the top 3 running 17:59 for the bronze.
In the women’s overall category, Madison McDermott was the gold medallist with a time of 19:19. Sister, Mikayla McDermott won the silver in 19:45 & Maya Markowska took the bronze in 19:55.
In the 50-59 category, we had two new course records with Zoe Webster lowering the women’s best mark to 23:01 & Peter Quevillon taking the men’s record down to 19:31.
William Scharf was the fastest male in the youth 2.5K race running 8:29, while the top female was Alexandra Mills with a time of 9:17.
