The Don Olson Classic 2.5K & 5K trail race celebrated its 5th anniversary on September 30th with a big crowd, fast times and a new Champion.
There was plenty of speed up front with the top 11 athletes all running under 18 minutes for 5K on the challenging Albion Hills course.
2015 silver medalist Kyle Smith claimed the 5K title this year completing the loop course in 16:19. Last year’s bronze medalist Jamie Tarling moved up a spot to take the silver in 16:30 & Andrew Brown ran 16:40 to earn the bronze.
Jayden Keeler took the women’s 5K title in a new age group record time of 19:12. Aysia Maurice won the silver for the second consecutive year running 19:39 & Megan Logan rounded out the podium with a bronze medal effort of 19:55.
Cameron Moir was the top overall male in the youth 2.5K race coming in at 8:46 while the top overall female for the second consecutive year was Ella Jackson with a time of 9:28.
